Getting from Victoria to Addis Ababa

There are several routes to Addis, which is one of the largest airports in Africa. There are direct flights through Toronto, New York, Frankfurt or Zurich
I have actually chosen to fly through Heathrow and have a 24 hour layover there, so that I can arrive reasonably awake.
Leaving Thursday night via Vancouver. arrive London Friday afternoon and then on to Addis Ababa on Saturday, arriving about 9pm.
